This variety is a filbert (a type of hazelnut).
A stunning deciduous tree (or shrub) with purple leaves.
Grows to max. 6 x 4m and can be pruned smaller to fit any garden.
Pale yellow catkins appear on the bare twigs from late winter into spring, attracting early pollinators.
Harvest from late September.
Self fertile - you only need one tree for a good crop.
